Eagle Highlands Inpatient & Outpatient Services is Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana's (RHI's) main campus. The hospital was built in 1992 as a collaboration between Indiana University Health and Ascension St. Vincent to provide best-in-class patient care. RHI facilities were built around treatment protocols to provide the best patient care and outcomes. 

Services Offered

• Acute inpatient rehab-brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, transplant or other trauma 
• Outpatient rehab -outpatient therapy plus specialized outpatient programs 
• Physical therapy (PT)
• Occupational Therapy (OT)
• Speech therapy (ST)
• Neuro-psychology evaluations and therapy
• Pharmacy, Radiology, Laboratory, Respiratory, and Nutrition Services

The facility includes a 12,000-square-foot gymnasium with state-of-the-art equipment to help you get stronger, practice skills, and meet your rehabilitation goals. The gym includes daily living practice areas, such as a practice kitchen, practice bathroom with shower, bath and lavatory, bed, and car.

Patient Rooms

Patients staying at the facility enjoy large rooms that do not restrict wheelchair mobility. They feature large bathrooms with customized showers and sinks built especially for rehabilitation patients. Hallways and doors are wide, and nursing stations are built at wheelchair height.

Throughout our hospital, patients benefit from thoughtfully designed private rooms, abundant natural light, calming colors, and dedicated therapy spaces that encourage participation in rehabilitation while supporting rest and recovery. Environmental features—including easily accessible supplies located outside patient rooms, reduced unnecessary interruptions, and intuitive unit layouts—help promote safety, preserve sleep, minimize overstimulation, and create a more therapeutic healing experience.

Our specialized Brain Injury Unit builds upon these same evidence-based principles with additional features tailored to the unique needs of individuals recovering from brain injury. Designed to reduce agitation, improve orientation, and support cognitive recovery, the unit reflects our commitment to translating rehabilitation research into everyday patient care.

As Indiana's only TBI Model System and an academic partner of Indiana University School of Medicine, we continuously evaluate emerging evidence and incorporate best practices into both our care and our environment—ensuring patients receive rehabilitation in a setting intentionally designed to maximize recovery.
